I write for a living, and I love writing for HubPages.com. It’s free. There’s a supportive community of writers there. You get paid for the traffic that comes to your articles (called “hubs”). And you maintain ownership of them and have the freedom to remove them and put them somewhere else at any time.
It’s a pretty good deal.
It starts out slow, so don’t get all hyped up about getting rich overnight. People do make good money there, but it takes hard work, consistency, and time. Some hubbers make hundreds of dollars per month. Some make only pennies. The best part is that the articles you write this week/month/year will be earning you money long after you’ve written them. That’s the beauty of passive streams of income.
So, to make money on HubPages, it’s really no different from making money on other websites.
Here are some tips to keep in mind…
- Write a lot of content.
- Don’t publish garbage.
- Use keywords — but use them sparingly — in your hub and in your title.
- Interact with your readers and other writers.
- Promote your hubs through social media and other websites.
- Do…not…stop.

To be more productive and write hubs more quickly, I highly recommend writing what I call “hub clusters” rather than writing only stand-alone hubs. Basically, a hub cluster is just a series of closely-related hubs on a single topic. By writing strings of hubs instead of just one-and-stop…one-and-stop, you are able to literally double or even triple your productivity.
